Helmholtz Coils consist of two parallel circular coils, spaced apart by a distance equal to their radius, and connected in series so that the current flows in the same direction through both coils.Each coil has a moulded plastic former 152 mm in diameter with 320 turns of 22 SWG, enamelled wire giving a mean diameter of 136 mm.
